I finally have a moment to post these scans. I couldn't make up my mind what to draw in Stacey's moly. Then I came across a photo of the cutest bat! So I drew the bats and then added a "Bat" man checking out the beautiful girl. I've never drawn bats before so it was a challenge. I kind of wish that I had stuck with the bats and left the man out but it's too late now. Hope you enjoy the story that is happening Stacey and I promise to never draw a bat again:)
It looks great Kari! You did a fabulous job. I can't wait to see where it goes from here.
ReplyDeleteThis is terrific!! Great entry. The eye is compelling. Great book so far.
ReplyDeleteooooo kari!!!!!! i love the blue to purple palette. i also love how this moly is subtly dark/creepy, but really calming and inviting at the same time.
ReplyDeletei'm incredibly excited to work in it.
You know what Racheal - I got the same feeling from this. When I started with my entry - I wanted their to be some question as to the feel of my entry. While the face clearly has a trickle of blood coming from the mouth and the feel is dark...it is uncertain when you look at it if the angel is good/bad, dead/alive. The dark setting of the entry makes you feel kind of calm and now with Kari's entry and that eye - you could get a feeling of either the bat man looking on with lust, longing, love, hate, anger or anything.
ReplyDeleteyes!! it's very ambiguous but i like this because its easier for the viewer to draw their own conclusions. i have it next so i'm thinking about ways to continue this emotion..
ReplyDeletejust wanted to let you know that i received it in the mail yesterday. will try to have it out to carolina by the first but if not, it will be monday/tuesday after the july 4th weekend.
ReplyDeleteIt's no problem. There really is no rush. The only reason for the mailing dates are just so we can all have a sort of guideline.
ReplyDeleteJenn -
